Lawcris took part in the annual St. Gemma's golf event last week on the 13th June! Our golfing enthusiasts (and we have surprisingly quite a lot, apparently golfing is the sport for Lawcris!) attended the day which was a "hole" lot of fun according to our representatives. With it being for a such a good cause, we hope everyone enjoyed it.
The day was hosted at Moor Allerton Golf Course which is one of the finest courses in the region. The club was founded in 1923 and moved in 1970 to a location near to the village of Wike where it has been ever since.
Since the St Gemma's Annual Golf Day event began in 2001, a staggering £269,500 has been raised altogether for the Hospice. This year at St Gemma's 18th Annual Golf Day, they managed to raise over £21,000! Now that's a hole-in-one! Especially as they are celebrating 40 years together.
It's safe to say that the event was a success, not only for St Gemma's, but for Lawcris too, with two of our teams driving their way to victory. Out of 22 teams, Lawcris Team 3 bagged a 3rd, while Lawcris Team 2 'putted' their way into 2nd place. Well done guys!
Sponsoring St. Gemma's and their annual golf day is one of the ways we give something back to the community. Take a look at our corporate responsibility page to see what else we get up to.
