Lawcris Panel Products hosted a thrilling charity football day this past Saturday, drawing in community members for a fun-filled event aimed at raising funds for St Gemma's Hospice.

The event was held under gloriously sunny skies, providing the perfect backdrop for a day of sports, entertainment, and family fun.

The eagerly anticipated football match between Lawcris Tornadoes and Supporting Charities FC got underway with some fantastic play.

But it wasn't just the adults who got to enjoy the action. The event included a children's football game, ensuring that the younger participants also had a chance to showcase their skills and enjoy the sport.
The kids game was as serious as the adults!
Adding to the carnival atmosphere were a variety of entertainers and activities. A circus entertainer wowed the crowd with dazzling tricks, while a talented face painter transformed kids' faces into a range of colourful characters.

There were also plenty of games designed to keep the children entertained throughout the day.

Another highlight was the raffle, which featured an array of incredible prizes. Attendees had the chance to win a Rooftop Spa and Supper for Two at Rudding Park, beauty goodies, perfume, prosecco, and rose wine from Harvey Nichols, a meal voucher from Zoya in Oulton, a meal and drinks voucher from The New Masons Arms in Oulton, a Gin Distillery tour voucher for Cooper King, a 4-ball voucher for Q hotels, and two pairs of Leeds United game tickets.

Food was plentiful and delicious, with The Spitting Pig providing a sumptuous hog roast complete with all the trimmings, ensuring no one went hungry. As the game came to a close, man of the match was given to Ash, who also scored two of the three goals for Lawcris.

It was an incredible day and in a close and exciting game, Lawcris Tornadoes emerged victorious with a final score of 3-2.

The day was a resounding success, not only in terms of entertainment but also in fundraising. A grand total of £2646 was raised for St Gemma's Hospice, a testament to the generosity of all who attended and participated.

Overall, the charity football day was a memorable event filled with laughter, competition, and community spirit, all in support of a truly worthy cause.
